Listening to one of my favourite musicals, Man of La Mancha (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Mancha-Us-Joe-Darion/dp/B00005A8KE/sr=8-1/qid=1158178745/ref=sr_1_1/202-0492934-1991054?ie=UTF8&s=gateway), I noted an ascendant line from the grand finale number capturing musically the ‘rise each time you fall’ maxim:

“What is sickness to the body of a knight errant? What matter wounds? For each time he falls he shall rise again.”

The centerpiece song – The Impossible Dream – is probably the anthem for embracing failure.  Unfortunately, the web doesn’t seem to have any versions of the unmatchable Richard Kiley renditions, but the Peter O’Toole version from the movie still makes the points.
